I rue the day that I need specs. I am one of two (out of 9) in my family that doesn't wear corrective lenses of some sort. I take pride in that. But I know that some day it won't be the case.
I just fear that it will be my hair that goes before my vision. (my hair isn't messin' around)

42 years I made it. 42. It sucks, but I can see. And I haven't had a headache in 5 days now. Coincidence?

I got suckered into paying a small fortune for a pair of those glasses that go darker in the sun last year - for driving in.
i explained to my optician what I wanted them for, he explained that some car windshields block out the UV that makes the lenses go darker - but he still sold them to me.
he was right, they don't go dark in the car

Talk about a fortune. I'm not sure why we even carry the vision insurance. The premiums are more than what we paid in deductibles and their part of the frames. It didn't come close.
I didn't get changing lenses, either. It's pretty gray because of winter so I don't know what I'll do come summer. I almost can't tolerate the sunshine without a good pair of polarized shades.
BTW - Our Thomas table you were checking out retails for $290+. I got it this Christmas on ebay for $160 (including shipping). If you are looking for one (I wasn't, but found that one and could NOT pass it up), look for the seller on ebay, "fintouches." They are in Teaneck, NJ and sold at least 3 of the Thomas tables (brand new) for under $170.
And on the glasses front, just remember that now you can confidently read line 7. Maybe even line 8? :o)

I'm laughing because I just had to get glasses myself and I think I look like a total dork in them! But my license is expired and there was no way I was going to pass the vision test without them. So I'll wear them for the test, but not for driving, so you should maybe stay out of my way!

At least I've still got my hair!
I got glasses when I was about 13. So i use my ever retreating hairline as my own age barometer
Fortunately, I've still got my hair.
Well..I think glasses are pretty hot.
*shrugs*
Thanks. Maybe I'll get used to them.
My husband got glasses a few months ago. He was bummed for a bit. I thought and still think they're sexy.
Men just don't understand, a man in nice glasses is like a woman in a push up bra.
Thanks for the image. Now I feel all pretty.

Congrats on making it to 42 before you needed them! I've had contacts since my teens. I think the glasses look cool too.

I can definitely see better, no question about it.
I have always thought that glasses made a man look extinguished, er, I mean distinguished!
That hurt.

Thanks for the warning.
